I LOVE my Grandchildren – each and every one of them. Each one is like a mini adult – unique and special. My youngest Grand daughter is 3 years old now, going on 40. She seems to act like an “OLD SOUL”. Has anyone ever heard that phrase?
She talks with such wisdom and has such a caring nature. When she walks past me, she makes me think of a little old lady, carrying her purse over her arm, hat on her head, little white gloves and an attitude to match. She’s a matter of fact, knows what she wants before you ask, all that and more, little girl with an ‘Old Wise Soul’.
She directs everyone and doesn’t hesitate to tell you what she thinks. Watch out Preschool!
On top of that she has this amazing, caring spirit. Case in point – When she was very young she was sitting on the side of the pool and she looked at my face and began to cry. I have a tiny red birth mark (like a beauty spot) on my cheek. She pointed at it and spoke thru her tears saying “ouchy”.
Another example happened last Christmas when I was visiting. I wasn’t feeling well, so I was lounging around on the couch. She insisted on taking my temperature, listening to my heart with a toy stethoscope and taking my blood pressure with her toy blood pressure cuff.
She would tuck her baby blanket all around me and insisted that I needed to drink juice. She would then tell me I needed to take my medicine and would put a ‘Cheez It’ cracker up to my mouth.
Now she did this 5 or more times every minute..over and over… for what seemed like forever. I ate a lot of Cheez Its. Believe it or not, after a while, I felt better. I believe it was from all her TLC. (Drinking all the Orange Juice didn’t hurt either).
Great memories. Great FUN!
I hope she continues to care for and nurture people when she is older. I think it may be one of the many gifts God has given her. I’m a nurse and would love if she followed in my footsteps or maybe go beyond and become a Doctor. Whatever she does, I’m sure it will be AMAZING.
I want to thank God for my (3 year old – going on 40) Grand daughter, for her caring nature and ‘OLD SOUL’ spirit and for all my wonderful Grands. They bring me such Joy. I am truly Blessed.
What are you Thankful for today?
I’m sure God would love to hear from you and so would I.
